Tour typography's global history with specimens from 24 countries and 15 scripts. Design researcher Dori Griffin will share the process of researching, writing, and designing a book about type specimens from around the world and across multiple scripts. Type Specimens: A Visual History of Typesetting and Printing is forthcoming from Bloomsbury Academic in January 2022.

  • about Dori Griffin received her BFA in graphic design from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, her MFA in graphic design from the University of Florida, and her PhD in design with an emphasis in design history from Arizona State University. Trained as both a designer and a design historian, she occupies an interdisciplinary scholarly position which engages both studio practice and scholarly research.
